    Read this in two days, it was that good! I am a fan of all the Alaskan reality shows, and this book shows all the hardships and beauty of that great wilderness. Highly recommended!
  • Slow, tedious and redundant

    The Author tries to weave together a story from bits and pieces that make reading her novel slow, tedious and redundant. There are even a couple of scenes that make no sense at all and should have been picked up by the Editor. While the story line is interesting — development of a young woman living with an abusive father and slowly decaying mother — and the characters are well developed, the novel rambles. I literally read through the last third of the book at hyper speed because it had already lost my interest because it was so predictive and redundant.

    I found myself getting very little sleep because reading this book somehow became more important. I fell in love with the characters but mostly I fell in love with Alaska. I was so intrigued! I have read every single one of Kristin Hannah’s books and have really enjoyed them all but this one quickly became my favorite. It is amazing!
