Your Elevator Pitch

Now that you have drafted your Written Job Search Plan, you are ready to put together your Elevator Pitch.  And what is an Elevator Pitch, you ask?

Simply stated, your elevator pitch is a 30-second summary of your Written Job Search Plan.

It should be a very succinct summary of:

bullet

Your strengths / skills / core competencies

bullet

What kind of work you want to do

bullet

Where you want to do that work

It is a synopsis that you can use to clearly communicate who you are and what you are looking for at networking meetings, at group job seeking meetings, in cover letters, and in interviews.

So craft it carefully!  Rehearse it endlessly!   It is your key to making the most positive first impression possible.
